THE Lambs got off to the perfect start when they opened the scoring in the third minute. A good passing move resulted in the ball finding Ben Cross, with his perfectly weighted pass finding Josh Grant, who slotted the ball home from ten yards.
Seven minutes later, Jack Crago found Dan Sullivan and his fierce shot looked destined for the net before deflecting wide. The resulting corner kick was headed into the net, but the referee adjudged a foul on Chinoweth, so the goal was disallowed.
Launceston levelled in the 15th minute, when on the break a cross found centre forward Pring, who flashed the ball home.
The visitors weren’t to be denied in the 20th minute, when they were awarded a free kick 22 yards from goal. Pring bent his kick around the defensive wall low towards the corner of the net.
Three minutes later saw Jack Crago through on goal, and looked like he did everything right as he slotted the ball past the advancing keeper, only to see his effort hit the post and roll to safety.
The Lambs levelled in the 34th minute when Dan Sullivan unleashed a thunderbolt from 25 yards that nestled in the top corner.
In the 40th minute the visitors regained the lead when the Lambs lost possession, which allowed Davey to fire home from 12 yards. Back came the hosts to level the scores when Tyler Elliot’s shot cannoned back off the upright, but Jake Miller was on hand to hit a shot low into the net.
Just before the interval, the Lambs had a Josh grant strike ruled out the goal for offside.
The Lambs started the second half quickly and immediately forced a corner kick, but Lewis Daw’s header went inches wide of the target.
The Lambs started dictating the play, with Launceston restricted to occasional counter attacks. Chinoweth again came to the visitors’ rescue as he pulled another fantastic save to deny Josh Grant.
Dave Hallett then saw his strike from 23 yards go inches over the bar. Despite Tavistock’s pressure, the visitors’ defence held firm with Chinoweth in superb form meaning the home team dropped their first two points of the season.
Although not on top form, the Lambs will be disappointed to have dropped two points in a game they should have won due to their second half performance.
