THERE was an excellent league day for Devon Ability counts leagues at Stover School in the autumn sun.
Tavistock Specials had three sides playing — ladies, premiership two side and its league two side.
Tavispecials coach and disability referee Mark Lewis led the minute silence in honour of Rememberance Sunday and the servicemen and women who gave their lives for our freedom.
More than 300 players, coaches and relatives stood in silence in a touching moment. The football was all played in the right spirit with teams from all over Devon taking part.
Club spokesman Allen Lewis said: ‘A great day was had by all and the Tavispecials enjoyed the matches with three new players signing on, one for each side.
‘The squad love wearing the Caroline’s kit from Graham and Val Goldring, which is so close to our players’ hearts.’
The leagues now stop until February but it hopes to get a couple of friendly fixtures before and just after the New Year.
