TAVISTOCK match day announcer and club mascot (also known as Ram the Lamb) Eric Pinch puts on another hat at the club as he takes on the role of commercial manager.
This has been a position within the club that has been lacking in recent years. There has been many attempts to fill this post over many years without success.
Eric has been with the club for more than 20 years and, apart from a short spell when he ran his own business, has been involved in some capacity or another.
Eric said: ‘It will be a challenge, in my early years I produced the programme and fixture list seeking sponsors for the same and know the difficulties of it all. The first task is to make contact with all existing sponsors in the hope of all of them continuing and at the same time to seek and encourage more to come onboard.
‘It is exciting times at Langsford Park at the moment. Relegation from the premier division three or four seasons ago certainly stirred it up at the club and promotion back to the top flight after one season was a tremendous achievement.
‘Last season saw us after a dodgy start finish third. We are at the moment flying high and third in the table, into the first round proper of the national FA Vase, the league cup still awaits and we all look forward to each and every game knowing we can go out and win them.
‘We have a very talented squad that is a pleasure to watch and long may it continue. But the hard work starts for me off the pitch.’
