THE Lambs closed the gap to one point on third placed Godolphin with this dominant performance over Falmouth Town. The game after 35 minutes was over as a contest when the home team scored four.

Tavistock got off to a flying start putting the visitors' defence under pressure from the off, in the third minute a fine move saw Josh Robins have a shot well saved by Barns in the visitors' goal.

The early pressure paid off in the tenth minute when a good move saw Kelvin Fyneboy find Glyn Hobbs 25 yards from goal, his superb, unstoppable bullet strike, flashed into the net. Three minutes later Lewis Coombes saw his effort skim the top of the crossbar.

The visitors had their first effort on the home goal in the 18th minute when a 25 yard shot from Timmons was easily saved by Jack Ord in the home goal. The home team doubled their lead in the 25th minutes when a quick exchange of passes by Lewis Coombes and Hobbs, resulted  in Hobbs thundering home another shot that nestled in the back of the net.

The home team were now in complete control and it was no surprise that Jack Crago made it 3-0 after a great passing move saw Ben Cross produce a great ball for Crago to volley home.

In the 35th minute the Lambs made it four, when following great work by Kelvin Fyneboy the ball was cleared for a corner kick. Dave Hallet’s kick saw Lewis Coombes head home from, eight yards. Hobbs was then denied his hat-trick when Barns produced a terrific save.

The second half saw the the Lambs remain in complete control, although Falmouth made an effort to get into the game, and although they had more of a share of possession they never really threatened the home defence. The home team always looked the more likely to score, with Hobbs firing over the bar in the 55th minute. Jack Crago then went close, dragging his shot just wide of the target.

Ord made a smart save in the 65th minute from Greek following a long throw in, Coombes then had a good chance to make it five but his goal bound shot was deflected for a corner kick. The home team saw the remainder of the game to record a comprehensive victory.

This was another good team performance with everyone playing their part. Glyn Hobbs has given the attack some real extra punch, and with Jack Crago, and Kelvin Fyneboy the team now has some real fire power, and will always be a threat to opposition defences. The back four were superb with Lewis Daw and Dan Evans dominating the middle. Young full back Ben Cross showed his class along with the ever consistent Josh Robins. Dave Hallett is now back to his best form as he dictated the play in the middle of the park with Warren Daw and Lewis Coombes playing important roles in the area where games are won or lost.

This Saturday Tavistock visit Bodmin Town, kick-off, 3pm while the reserves are at home to Saltash United, kick-off  2.30pm.
