IT was a great evening at Langsford Park on Tuesday as Tavistock AFC hosted Football League side Plymouth Argyle in a friendly.

Argyle manager Derek Adams brought his new look team, which has seen many ’ins and outs’ to his squad which just lost out in the Division Two play-offs at Wembley last season.

The Football League side won 7-2 against the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League premier side with the Lambs putting up a great fight against the Pilgrims. The Tavistock goals came from Glyn Hobbs and Jack Crago.

A bumper crowd of more than 1,500 enjoyed the match.

Richie Bolgiani, a spokesman for the club, said: ’The Lambs put in a tremendous performance against a very good Argyle team. The scoreline did not reflect on how well the Lambs played. Argyle showed how clinical they can be in front of goal, which resulted in a the scoreline.

Lambs’ manager Stuart Henderson can take a lot of positives from this performance, and take these positives into next season.’
