SHANE Krac returned to the starting line up for this fixture and it took him just four minutes to stamp his mark on the game. A fine run and pass by Josh Robins found the midfielder, who cut inside his marker and unleashed an unstoppable thunderbolt shot, that went in the top corner of the net giving visiting keeper Painter no chance of saving.

This set the pattern of the game with the Lambs dominating possession with Dan Evans, Glynn Hobbs and Josh Grant all going close to scoring, so it came as no surprise when they increased their lead in the 25th minute.

A really good move saw Hobbs produce the perfect pass for Josh to slide the ball home.

The Lambs continued to put the visitors defence under pressure. Ben Cross saw his shot flash just wide of the target before Painter in the visitors’ goal made a superb save to deny Hobbs from scoring.

Two minutes before the interval Warren Daw made a penetrating run into the penalty area where he was tripped. The referee had no hesitation in awarding a penalty; up stepped Hobbs who riffled the spot kick Home to give the Lambs a comfortable three goal lead at the interval.

The Lambs continued to dominate the game in the second half, although the young St Blazey team always tried to play good passing football, but were no match for the home team.

Robins hit the side netting early after the restart, before Krac and Daw saw efforts well saved by Painter. The home team produced another fine flowing move in the 54th minute when Josh produced a fine run and cross for Ricki Shepherd to side foot home.

Tavistock scored their fifth in the 75th minute when a mistake by Painter, who had been excellent, let in a goal by Krac, as the ball went in direct from a corner kick. The St Blazey keeper made amends when he produced a magnificent save to deny Hobbs from scoring. Painter then denied Krac a hat-trick, making another fine save from his powerful header.

The Lambs took full advantage of Saltash being involved in the Cornwall Senior Cup, to move three points clear at top of the league.  It was another sound performance in a game that could have been a banana skin against one of the lower placed teams. Everyone played their part in a good team performance, but Dan Evans was superb throughout the 90 minutes.
