GUNNISLAKE FC held its presentation evening at The Tamar Inn in Calstock
The manager’s player was awarded to Craig Howe; young player to Joe Wakenshaw and the players’ player to Chris Parsons; top goal scorer was Kieron Jasper and for all the work on and off the field the committee presented the club man trophy to Joe Wakenshaw.
Chairman Peter Holmes emphasised the quality and quantity of work and praised the improvements done on and around the club’s new pitch at The Butts, Albaston.
Club secretary Michael Kinger said: ‘We are proud to announce that Cyril Worth and Son Removals are sponsoring a new kit and Daren’s Cars of Albaston are providing polo shirts.’
Mr Michael Kinger attended the Duchy annual meeting on Monday 25 June at St Dennis and was absolutely delighted to accept on behalf of Gunnislake the division one trophy for the most sporting team.
Plans are going ahead for two memorial games scheduled for the end of July – one being for Andrew Payne, a former player of Gunnislake, who was involved in a fatal car accident and the other is The Andrew Southcott Trophy a long standing player and manager at this club.
Training is to start at The beginning of July at The Butts Playing Field and the club would welcome any interested players to come along.
