TAVISTOCK AFC’s Langsford Park is to host a charity football game on May 13 to raise money for the Tavy Specials Ability Counts team.
The charity match, sponsored by the Times, will be played out between Tavy Hire vs Trevor’s Son-Rise Boys – named in honour of popular referee Trevor Walker.
Trevor helped to referee at the Son-Rise Cup for seven years and had been scheduled to referee this game before he recently died.
The game, which kicks off at 2pm, will be raising money for the Tavy Specials Ability Counts football team, which provides opportunities for football lovers with special needs to play the beautiful game.
The match is especially important to their funding this year as this year’s 2018 Son-Rise Cup, the club’s main fundraising event, had to be cancelled due to a a lower number of teams entering due to the football season being extended because of recent bad weather.
