CONNOR Marshall faced a fifth straight defeat in all competitions as Tavistock AFC manager on Saturday, October 31.

After prevailing in his first game in charge away at Buckland Athletic in late September, the Lambs have won just one of nine outings.

They shipped five at Newquay AFC in midweek (Oct 28) and were then defeated by Torpoint Athletic at Langsford Park on Halloween.

With the Point one goal ahead courtesy of James Rowe, Ryan Downing was sent on after an hour and subsequently changed the game.

Scott Piper scored twice late on for Tavistock but a rapid hat-trick from Downing proved decisive, Torpoint winning it 4-2.

In fact, no team won at home in the Western League Premier. Newquay and Saltash shared the spoils whereas Street FC, Wells City and Sidmouth Town all joined Torpoint in winning on the road.

Next up, Tavistock visit Brislington FC on Saturday, November 14.
