AT the Devon County Amateur Swimming Association Championships 2012, held at Central Park in Plymouth, Kelly College swimmers collected five wins and four junior Championships.

They included four Kelly College age group records, 18 golds, 9 silver and 12 bronze and 108 personal best times. Winning championships were Molly Redford in the 400m freestyle (senior and junior) and 50m backstroke (junior); Leah Picill, 400m individual medley (senior and junior); Oliver Willis, 50m backstroke; Matthew Courtis, 400m individual medley; Nathan Miller, 100m butterfly and David Colley, 400m freestyle (junior).

College age group record breakers were Benjamin Staig (12) broke two records — the 400m individual medley with a time of 5.20.42 and the 100m butterfly in 1.09.93; Leah Picillo (14) broke a long standing record with 5.05.08 in the 400m IM. Molly Redford (15) swam 58.54 in the 100m freestyle to break the 15 year age group record. Gold medal winners: Molly Redford, Leah Picillo, Oliver Willis, Matthew Courtis, Nathan Miller, David Colley, Cara Layden, Katherine Larcombe, Brittaney O'Reilly, Beth Watmore, Ben Staig, Sophie Hastings.

The next events to be held by DCASA in Plymouth will be at the new Life Centre, Plymouth which opens at the end of this month.

The last weekend of the DCASA Championships for 2012 will be held on Saturday and Sunday at The Pyramids, Exeter.
