Dragon Taekwondo took a team to compete in Southampton on Sunday. The club, who train at Halwill Junction Parish hall, entered 11 competitors and brought home 20 medals.
This is one of the largest teams the small Devon club has fielded to date and each and every member did themselves and their club proud. The competitors showed great spirit and bravery as well as martial skill as they competed in three disciplines.
Fighting was done to Olympic Taekwondo rules — adults are tested to see how many boards they can break with each limb, while children are required to sprint between targets and break specially designed boards in as short a time as possible.
The team was coached by Liam Grange
