Carlton Farnham then produced a great run down the right ending with his cross going out of play for a goal kick. On the hour Newton Abbot almost equalised when the home team failed to deal with a corner kick, but Lee Rundle was on hand to make a fine goal line clearance following a goalmouth scramble. Two minutes later Newton Abbot were reduced to nine players when Chris Metters received his second yellow card of the match. The Lambs came through this much stiffer task, against a strong well organised Newton Abbot defence, and at the end deserved their well earned victory. Manager Kevin Hendy said he was delighted to continue the great start to the season: 'This was probably our best performance, against our toughest opponents to date. Newton Abbot had lots of experience in their side, being competitive throughout. I thought we played some terrific football and dictated large parts of the game, creating lots of chances, playing with pace and quality in the final third of the pitch. 'Now we face a tough task at Exeter University on Saturday.'
