ON a cold and wet Thursday, with most other clubs in the region closed to play, a small group of hardy Hurdwick golfers were out on the course. They joined their captain Nigel Schofield for the Stableford competition.

Although they got caught by rain a couple of times and were continually battered by ferocious winds,  the snow mercifully held off and they were all able to complete the full 18 holes and hand in reasonable cards.

Club regular Paul Turner came in the winner with 35 points.
