IN the final matches of this season's Okehampton Netball League FBI beat Magpies 48-39. With Magpies in the relegation area they needed to pull out all the stops in this first division match.

In the first two quarters the game could have gone either way. In the third FBI increased their lead by two goals and continued to pressurise Magpies until the end finally winning by nine goals.

Speedwells beat Hawks Tor 53-32. Hawks started with only six players and Speedwells took advantage from the start.

Another solid performance from Jo Moppet as centre and Beth Pengelly as GA saw Speedwells pull ahead early in the first quarter. Speedwells continued to lead and despite Hawks' shooters best efforts the superb defence of Sandra Ausden and Kelly Cann kept Speedwells in the lead to win by a comfortable margin.

Wallabies beat Lifton 48-3. Lifton suffered an injury early in the match leaving them with only six players. Together with the absence of some key players saw Lifton struggle. However, nothing should be taken away from the young Wallabies side that played some excellent netball being particularly strong in both circles.

Other results: Jets 28 Jammie Dodgers 27; Busy Bees 33 Halwill Hurricanes 29.

The league will be holding its annual meeting and presentation evening on Tuesday, June 11 at 7pm at Okehampton Rugby Club. All are welcome to attend.
