THREE Tavistock Swimming Club members enjoyed a presentation this week at a club meet at Meadowlands.
Sarah Teague was presented with her Swim England Fast 5 award. She finished in third place in her age group at the South West Regional Summer Champion-ships held in Gloucester.
Sarah began competing at the age of eight and is now a member of Tavistock Swimming Club’s Elite squad, training nine hours a week.
Head coach James Lake said this is a superb result with swimmers competing in races across all four strokes.
Sam Lake, a Great Britain age group team triathlete, has been awarded a 2017 limited edition pin badge by the British Triathlon Association. This comes in recognition of her international podium performance. Sam was a silver medallist in the European Aquathlon Champion-ships during the 2017 season.
Kirsty Addy from British Triathlon wrote that ’it is fantastic to see that Sam’s commitment and dedication to triathlon and aquathlon has led her to compete at such a level.’ She wishes Sam luck and hopes that she will continue to produce inspiring performances.
The third recipient was Amber Francis, who further to her other Devon and National successes, was presented with her Swim England South West Region Young Volunteer of the year by head coach James Lake.
