THE 2015/16 Winter League of the Moorland Ladies Dart League culminated in its presentation night on Saturday at The Tavy Club.

The chairperson, Jan Dean, and secretary, Sue Cork, were pleased to welcome Paul Johnson and his wife from Dartmoor Search and Rescue Group, as their guests, who presented the trophies.

The DSRG (Tavistock), were the recipients of this year’s Charity, one of two ‘adopted’ by the league. Throughout the season, the league held charity events in the form of quizzes, a ‘Round the Clock’ charity event and raffles. Together with a donation from the league, they were pleased to present them with a cheque for £600.

Following a brief introduction, Paul outlined some of the work that DSRG do, and the costs involved in keeping the group working.

He thanked the ladies of the league for their hard work and generosity, and then proceeded to present the trophies.

The presentation was followed by a buffet provided by Sally Perkins and her team at The Tavy Club, and the evening was rounded off with a disco.

The league are always looking for new teams to join them, and would welcome any enquiries from the area.

The annual meeting will be held at The Tavy Club on July 12 at 8pm, when any interested teams would be welcome.
