A FORMER head girl at Shebbear College is proudly flying the flag for England after winning her first cap for the under 20 national rugby team.

Involved with the England under 18 and under 20 squads for several years, Clara Nielsen won her first under 20s cap this year when she played the second half against France at Esher.

Following her debut appearance for England, Clara was a key part of the Exeter University women's team, reaching the final of the Universities' Cup, in which they beat Cardiff Metropolitan 17-15 in a thrilling encounter at Twickenham.
