OKEHAMPTON College student Naomi Jackson has been selected by the English Schools Table Tennis Association to represent England at the Invitation International to be held at the end of June in the Isle of Man.

Teams from England, Guernsey, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Scotland and Wales will all be competing.

Her selection at U19 level follows a strong performance in the ESTTA national individual championships held at the Dome in Doncaster last weekend where she won bronze as Devon U19 girl representative.

Naomi, aged 17, put in a strong performance before losing out in the semi-final to the eventual winner Emma Tovey from Kent.

She has been U19 Devon Schools champion for the last four years

At the weekend more than 300 players representing 50 counties gathered at the Dome in Doncaster for the staging of the 2013 finals of the ESTTA individual championships. Competitions took place at U11, 13, 16 and 19 levels for both boys and girls.

Okehampton Primary School pupil Emily Haskell also represented Devon as the Devon U11 girls champion putting in a creditable display and showing much promise for the future.
