It was a busy Easter weekend for Tavistock Run Project with a number of events on the racing calendar.

Good Friday saw Hannah Smith and Alex Peyton-Jones represent the club at the Fast Friday 10k in Exeter. The race runs through parkland along the River Exe and the Quayside and is well organised by City Runs. Both Alex and Hannah ran well recording times of 35:39 and 43 mins respectively, with Alex just one second outside is personal best.

Easter Saturday saw success for Chris Rimmer at the Bishops Castle 10k Trail Race in Wales. On a muddy, hilly course Chris came home in first place in 38:08.

Saturday morning also witnessed a comfortable victory for Jim Cole at the Tavy 5. Jim cruised to victory in an excellent time of 15:38 suggesting he is getting back to his best.

Also on Saturday TRP held their Easter Handicap race. The run was incorporated into the Tamar Trails Parkrun and the athletes were given time handicaps.

This was a fun event with Nick Farmer taking the prize ahead of Rachael Malthouse and Lewis Mill. Post race the runners went back to Taylors for a well deserved breakfast.

Anyone wanting to learn more about TRP or train for a specific event can check out the website or Facebook page. The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm and at Tavistock track on alternate Fridays, all abilities are welcome.
