ESTHER Rookes from Tavistock Swimming Club has been acknowledged for her services with a special award.

She voluntarily serves her home club as well as the wider City of Plymouth Amateur Swimming Association,

She chairs and supports committees, as well as co-ordinating and officiating at galas — all with great diligence and enthusiasm.

Esther was recently presented with the Leaze Shield for her services to swimming by the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Wendy Foster and the new chair of Plymouth ASA, Paul Russell.
