Tavistock U16s 8

Okehampton U16s 30

OKEHAMPTON and Tavistock produced a scintillating first half with the visitors camped out in the home 25 trying to break a very determined and well drilled defence.

The Oke forwards dominated in the scrums and rucks and making good ground with their pick and drives but every time they released the backs Tavistock would break the defence and disrupt their line.

It was the home side who broke out against the run of play for Oke to concede a penalty which Tavy converted to take the lead.

A wayward pass was then picked up by the Tavistock backs to run 75 metres to score in the corner.

As the first half came to a close the Oke forwards pressure paid off when Williams was driven over to score.

In the second half the visitors had the advantage of the slope. Their forwards put in the best team display of the season as they all bundled over in the corner with the last player up being M Baker to claim the try.

Oke extended their lead with a penalty kick by Searle. Next to score was Searle in the corner for Oke and soon after Heard bursti through the centre to touch down. The forwards then wrapped the game up with a final try from Jake, which was converted by Searle.
