OKEHAMPTON Running Club member Danielle Fullford-Brown joined nearly 300 other athletes to take part in the Wadebridge Sprint Triathlon earlier this month.
In near perfect conditions, she completed the pool swim, the bike ride and 5k run in a time of 1hr 38 to score a personal best. An added bonus was, despite doing the run after the other disciplines, Danielle ran the 5k in 25 minutes 25 seconds, a PB for the distance and silver UKA award. She also raised £500 for prostate cancer, making all the hard training she'd put in worthwhile.
On the same day four more ORCs were enjoying a run on the new course of the Great West Run in Exeter. The new route was gently undulating single circuit. The weather stayed dry throughout which was not only good for the runners, but also the spectators who gave lots of support on the way round.
Robert Kelly was the first ORC home in 1.24.56, followed by Claire Kelly in 1.53.33. Andy Collyer was next in 1.57.45 and Katie Littlejohns in 2.04.13.
