WAYFARERS seconds have struggled for runs in recent weeks, but were at full strength to face a shorthanded Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough team.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat. Vickery (27) and Gaylard made a solid start adding 33 for the first wicket. Poole (2-31) getting the breakthrough. Vickery then ran himself out – tickling the ball around the corner and setting off, before being sent back and run out by Poole.

Hall bowled Cross with a dipping delivery to leave the visitors in trouble at 41-4.

Ford (14) and Eavis (22) added 32 for the fifth wicket, but when they had gone, Macrae (2-4) wrapped up the innings — the visitors all out for 85.

Dunne and Credicott for Whitchurch made light work of the run chase. The bowling was varied and at times challenging but Credicott led the way with 47 not out. Dunne finished 24 not out as Whitchurch won by 10 wickets.
