IT was a day for meeting old friends when Yelverton Bohemians CC hosted their annual President’s Day.

In the morning, an U21’ XI captained by Dan Cooper took on an over 40s XI in a T20 format game.  The younger Bohemians triumphed over their senior counterparts by 21 runs.

In the afternoon a President’s XI consisting of former and current Yelverton players including president Dave Langton and captained by chairman Geoff Willcocks took on a club XI captained by Richard Goldsby-West.

The club XI batted first and amassed 224-7 declared off 43 overs.  Significant contributions came from West (54), Rich Townsend (32), Rob Grove (24) and Ben Pearson (46 not out).  Geraint Heath took 3-49 for the Presidents XI.

In reply, the President’s XI chased down the total for the loss of six wickets with James Bogue scoring an excellent 106.  Bill Birkett (28), Simon Beare (23) and Matt Tamsett (26 not out) helped Bogue along the way.  Kevin Treweeks (2-25) and West (3-33) took the bowling honours as the President’s XI reached 226-6 off 37 overs.
