TAVISTOCK Cricket Club received great dividends from the Co-op this week to help with the youth cricket programme.

David Stanbury, a member of the Co-operative Group's South Devon area committee, presented Tavistock CC president Stuart Munday with a cheque for £1,525 as a grant for equipment, kit and coaching for the clubs' colts.

Dave said: 'I know the Ring well and played on it often as a young boy.  As a life long enthusiast of all sports, I'm delighted the Co-operative is able to support Tavistock Cricket Club to coach youngsters and provide the necessary kit.  Who knows?  Perhaps a future international or county player will be found and nurtured.'
