IT was glorious weather earlier this month as Cotehele Quay Club travelled up to Brixham pilot gig clubs regatta. The club experienced a mixed bag of results but members had thoroughly enjoyable day.
Cotehele Quay Gig Club results: (in order of racing) ladies’ B LB 6/12; ladies’ C 3/10; ladies’ A 7/8; men’s B 9/10; men’s A 7/12; lady veterans 12/12 and men’s veterans 11/11.
The following weekend in stunning scenery and sun, set the scene for Port Isaac’s regatta on August 13.
Launching out of Port Gaverne cove the crews experienced some chop once out in the sea and ready to race (which was a novelty for a river club).
There were excellent results by the team crew with two races being won by Cotehele and the club coming second overall — which was a great achievement.
Cotehele Quay GC results as follows: lady veterans 2/8; ladies’ B 7/8; men’s B 1/8; ladies’ A 2/8; men’s A 3/8 and mixed crew 1/8.
