IN the Tavistock Snooker League there was room for improvement with a largely indifferent performance from both Conservative C and Conservative Z.

Con Z's Adrian 'Jock' Jankowski looked to be in an unassailable lead for better part of the frame but some tenacious play from C's Rob Neale pulled it back to a more respectable 46-58 defeat.

New signing for Con Z, Nick Heartfield, 'smack it and see' approach paid off, leaving Con C's Angie Ward reeling. Skipper of the C's Robin Hoare reversed the slide to defeat by seeing off Con Z's Ashley Morton with some superb potting skills.

Pete Wilkinson for Con C's levelled the scores at 2-2 against McKechnie with some solid potting. Finally Symons, for the Z team, in a low scoring frame against Martin Roffey secured Con Zs first 3 points.

Neck and neck to the final frame it was West Devon C that edged out West Devon B. New C team skipper Elliott was given a sharp lesson by the B team's Toland in the first frame. Another new player for the C team, Pinkney slipped effortlessly past John Rich to level the scores.

The B team's Roger Rich took charge of his frame gliding past Williams, only for the C team to draw level again as Grigg took out Horrel in a low scoring encounter.

Hodge downed John Smith to make it a 3-2 victory for the C team.
