CONSERVATIVE A proved too strong for neighbours Conservative B as they again stretched their lead at the top of the Tavistock Snooker League with a workmanlike 4-1 win over them.
Despite this it was Con B that drew first blood as Evans (junior) took advantage of a recent dismal run of form from Cook, to eventually take charge of the frame after a tentative start.
Bell made no mistake with the A team's response with a 24 break on his first visit and from there on it was a case of 'catch up' from Lillicrap who just could not match Bell's superior potting spells.
Carruthers, who was run close by the B team's Monk in their last encounter, made no mistake this time as he comfortably put his side in front.
Evans (senior) likewise totally dominated the B team's Ewings from start to finish with a nice 20 break just reward for his dominance.
Paired again for the second time this season it was a similar tough encounter for Con A Team's Lacey against McKechnie (junior). On the last encounter it was McKechnie that took a pressure black to win, on this occasion it was 'pay back' time as Lacey repaid the favour taking his pressure black to secure the frame.
West Devon C took the spoils in a keenly fought encounter with neighbours West Devon D.
The WDC team went one up with Grigg easily beating May only for WDD skipper Hooper to pull it level with a pink ball game against Hodge.
Murton (26) hit a 'purple patch' as he disposed of Williams with consummate ease to put the D side in front again.
All level again with the 'master craftsman' Elliott taking out Shrimpton (junior) for the C team. Saving the best until last it was a tall order for Decieco to remove in form Pinkney, but he gave it his best shot before eventually falling to the superior 'fire power' of Pinkney as the West Devon C side ran out 3 -2 winners.
