COTEHELE Quay Gig Club raised £800 towards a new training boat by hosting a Kernow King show at Plymouth's Barbican Theatre.
It was the successful comedian's first time performing in the city.
The Ladies' B squad organised the event and ran a Cornish-themed bar to pull in funds towards the club's second training gig.
Squad captain Jane Fitzsimons said: 'The audience had a great time and some of the girls even got a chance to get on stage and show off their inner Beyonce.'
She thanked sponsors Cornish Orchards, Penpont Brewery, Tamar Grow Local, The Cornish Crisp Company Ltd and the Barbican Theatre for making the event possible.
A new plastic training boat costs more than £9,000 so the club is undertaking a large-scale fundraising drive and has attracted great support from the local community.
Cotehele's next fundraiser – a St Piran's Party run by the social squad – takes place on Saturday, March 8 at Harrowbarrow Village Hall. Tickets cost £6. To book, call Karen Ward on 01579 351971.
