The strong LOM defence were all over Rentafford’s attack straight from the start but Helen Veness and Jodie Brent both managed to force LOM into errors. Renttaford did manage to break once but LOM broke straight back.

Rhianna Abbot was holding her space well under the post and fighting for the rebounds along with Sophie Jury as the quarter ended level at 10-10.

LOM started the second quarter on the offensive but Gemma Cole came up with a great intercept that the Rentafford attack could not convert. Jodie Brent picked up a rebound which was brought down court by Fiona Arundel and Karen Channon who passed on to Abbott who scored. Cole and Brent were now putting heavy of pressure on the LOM circle. Ford managed to break again whick Jury converted to make it 18-14 to Rentafford.

In the third Brent came up with an intercept which Jury fed into Abbott who scored. LOM put pressure on Abbott giving Jury more space to shoot, which she did with a great pass in from Veness for 28-23 at the end of the third.

In the final quarter Renttaford opened up the scoring with a good shot from Abbott and another from Jury. LOM then went on to net twice more.

Sitting Pretty 14

TAVISTOCK side TT3’s Siobhan Rescorla started off well against Sitting Pretty in the shooting circle with great feeds in from fellow shooter Tamara Hick and Charlotte Hill. Pretty were finding it hard in their attacking circle with great defence from Sarah Daymond and Jade Coupland.

The first quarter ended 4-4.

In the second TT3’s Lisa Chamberlain picked up two loose balls which Hicks converted. Sky May made a great intercept while Hannah Cole at centre linked well with the defence bringing the ball down to the shooters. 7-7.

Robyn Hammond made a superb pass into Rescorla’s space, who scored. Hick got a great pick up which she scored from, giving TT3 the break they needed to go one up at 12-11 in the third.

Both teams fought to the end but TT3 edged their opponents out to win by one.
