THE young athletes from Mount House School enjoyed a highly successful day at the annual Kelly College Trophy athletics meeting, winning the team competitions in all four age groups – U12 girls, U12 boys, U14 girls and U14 boys. Eight prep schools from all over the region took part in the Kelly Trophy meeting, which was held at the Tavistock track, is a qualifying event for the Prep Schools National Athletics Champion-ships, which take place in Birmingham in July. There were some fine individual performances including many personal bests from the Mount House competitors. In the girls' U12s competition, Tess Campbell-Bareham (1,500m), Lizzie Elderfield (100m), and Emily Lumley (Shot Put) won gold. The U12 boys won six golds: Joseph Du'Gay in both the 200m and 800m, James Elderfield in the 70m hurdles, Jack Simpson in the shot, and Crispin Newman in both the high jump and the javelin. The U14 girls won five gold medals, with Martha Jacobs in the 100m, 300m and triple jump — and Milly Ridgers two (long jump and 200m). Mount House won gold in the U14s boys' through Joe Beck (100m and 200m) and Jonty Walliker (high jump).
