PLAYERS, officials and supporters of Callington Town Football Club were shocked last week following the sudden death of one of the club's stalwart committee members, Richard Pridham.
Richard was a larger than life character in the club and was part of the small group that had created the club's new pavilion at the Town's Ginsters Marshfield Park ground.
In respect of the news of the death, the club cancelled the two planned games on Tuesday and Wednesday evening but the family felt that the double header should go ahead on Saturday against Launceston.
Before the game the club held a minutes applause for the likeable character and many players joined in on the centre circle and the pavilion viewing area.
The funeral will be tomorrow (August 9) at St Mary's Church in Callington with a private family cremation at Glynn Valley afterwards. The family would welcome all who can come to join them for the wake following this at the football clubhouse in the community college.
