CALLINGTON Community College's Academy Basketball team has completed another successful season. In only the second year of the academy programme the basketball squad are once again champions of Cornwall.

The Academy is coached by Plymouth Raiders player coach Jay Marriott every Monday morning and play matches across Cornwall and Devon on Wednesday afternoons.

Basketball academy coach Jamie Coates said: 'The players have once again been outstanding this year. Their skill levels have developed alongside their understanding of the game which has improved through playing games and coaching younger students in after school clubs and primary festivals and competitions.'
