TAVISTOCK Short Mat Club held their final competition of the season at the Bowling clubhouse in Plymouth Road.

The season lasted from October until April. The  short mat club now has 43 members and last Thursday they held their presentation and social evening.

The trophies were presented by the Tavistock Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club chairman, Tony Smith.

Results — Mixed pairs: Winners G Blackburn and A Russell; runners up, R Fielding and H Lovell. Mixed triples: winners V Stacey, H Lovell, T Gobby; runners up T Carter, R Fielding, M Jones. Brian Parker Trophy: winner G Blackburn; runner up V Stacey. 72S Trophy: winner V Stacey; runner up J Sloane. Ladies' singles: winner S Blackburn; runner up M Paramor. Men's singles: winner G Blackburn; runner up V Stacey. Championship: winner G Blackburn, runner up S Blackburn. A special trophy was awarded to T Carter, the youngest member of the club.
