YELVERTON Bowling Club held its annual Christmas dinner at the the village's War Memorial Hall.
Catering was provided by the members who put on a splendid dinner for 72 members and guests.
A feature of the evening was a presentation of a £200 cheque raised on 'Nick's Day' by the men's section of the club to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Nick Capel is an active member of the club playing both for the men's and mixed sections and it was his idea to raise funds for the Devon Air Ambulance, arranging the event back in the summer.
Due to the success of Nick's Day, it will now be held annually, together with 'Doreen's Day' held by the ladies' section for the benefit of St Luke's Hospice charity and the club are proud to be involved in contributing to the community through these two events.
