YELVERTON Bohemian U15's beat Whitchurch U15's on a sunny evening at Langton Park, Yelverton. The home side batted first. Yelverton opening pair, George Hillson and Pierce Widdecombe put on 44 runs in the first four overs. However, Yelverton lost four wickets over the next six overs and at the half way stage were 89-4 after 10 overs. James Casey then joined Ben Grove to put on a further 76 for the fifth wicket. Yelverton finished on 174 in their 20 overs with Ben Grove top scoring on 59 and Alex Rich being the pick of the Whitchurch bowlers with 2-21. In reply , Whitchurch lost an early wicket in the second over and Dan Farnham took two wickets in two balls in the fifth over reducing Whitchurch to 19-3. Tom Cotter and Nathan Ord subsequently steadied the Whitchurch position and put on 43 for the fourth wicket. Lewis Hutchins then had Ord stumped by Luke Julyan and eight overs of tight bowling by Hutchins and Tom Barton saw Whitchurch end up on 86-6. Cotter top scored on 39 and Yelverton's Farnham returned tidy figures of 3-13. Yelverton U15's won by 88 runs and maintain their challenge for the West Devon U15's League title having only lost one of their games to date.
