MOTORBIKE rider Ben Williams from Dousland showed his talents at the British Stunt Championships and rode away with three trophies.

Ben, aged 27, took part in the championships held at Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire over three rounds which took place in March, August and October.

Riders are required to perform a freestyle routine on their bikes, demonstrating their ability at various skills including wheelies, stoppies and burnouts. These skills require balance and poise, so a lot of practice is needed to perfect a successful routine.

This year Ben entered the Championship for the first time, in the class for bikes under 200cc and also the amateur class for 600cc bikes. He was thrilled to gain one second place and two third place trophies in the 200cc category and a second and third place trophy in the 600cc amateur class.

Ben is a passionate and committed rider and is keen to promote this little known sport in the South West. He has had a great deal of support from Mark Tillyer at Tyremarks and The Fireworks Mine at Plympton for which he is very grateful.

Ben said: ‘I am thrilled to have won a trophy in every final I entered in this year’s championship, which was so much more than I expected for my first year of competition.  I am looking forward to the 2019 season and hope to be able to bring more trophies back to the South West.’
