AT Okehampton Golf Club after the 'monsoon' rains on Thursday and Friday the course had dried out remarkably well, enough to hold a four ball better ball Stableford competition.
Winners of division one were Kevin Cornwall and Mark Wonnacott with 42 points on the back nine from, in second Simon Taylor and Jerry Lock. Third position went to Paul Rattenbury and Malcolm Hill with 41pts after countback.
Division two was won by Rod Jones and Steve Browne with 42pts. The team of Pete Okopski and Bob Barrett were second with 40pts on the back nine from in third Ron Copeland and Graham Harding.
The first ladies' Stableford of the season was played last Wednesday.
The winner in the silver division was Jane Warren with 29pts. First in the bronze division was Mary Keir with 37pts; second Doris Jewell with 31pts and third Michelle Abel, also with 31pts.
Jane Warren and Mary Keir had a convincing win at home against Libbaton in the first round of the Daily Mail foursomes.
