SIX Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) travelled into Plymouth to take part in the December edition of the Armada Athletics Network Winter 3K Series held in Central Park.

All runners were rewarded at the finish with a mince pie. The BATs were led in by Martin Head in 13 minutes 59 seconds followed by Tanya Argue 14.31, Paul Ashton 14.46, Debbie Ashton 16.21, Sam Harte-Latremouille 17.27 and Hilary Head 19.11. Martin, Tanya and Debbie achieved distance personal bests.

Following the 3K, the Armada Network held the 2018 Grand Prix Presentation. Tanya Argue, Debbie Ashton, Sam Harte-Latremouille, Hilary and Martin Head and Natasha and Shaun Hingston received the Armada’s Achievers Awards for completing seven or more events from the Grand Prix list.

Following the individual awards, the club awards took place to the top three clubs for attendance at Grand Prix events. For the second year running Plymouth Musketeers were awarded first place team with Bere Alston Trekkers receiving second place.

The club thanked all BATs who supported it in the Armada Grand Prix. The Armada Athletics Network is a self-funded group of England Athletics affiliated clubs in the Plymouth, East Cornwall and West Devon area who work together to promote athletic opportunities for all, no matter of age or ability.

The network includes Bere Alston Trekkers, City of Plymouth AC, East Cornwall Harriers, Erme Valley Harriers, Instinctive Sports, Moorhaven RC, Plymouth Harriers, Plymouth Musketeers, Plymstock RR, Storm Plymouth, Tamar Trotters, Tavistock AC and in the New Year will be joined by Launceston Road Runners.
