MEMBERS of Bere Alston Trekkers (Bats) took part in two runs earlier in the month. 

At the annual Mad March Hare 10k in Plymouth taking part for the second time were Martin and Hilary Head who both achieved personal bests.  First Bat home was Mike Smith who, with his wife were running the course for the first time.

Bat times were: Hilary Head 80 minutes 48 seconds, Martin Head 55.04, Erin Jarvis (time to be confirmed), Mike Smith 50.08 and Heather Smith 60.08.

Three Bats also took part in a new race the same weekend, the Looe 10 Miler.  This race was described as 'hillish and hellish...not for the feint hearted' and certainly lived up to its name although it was a beautiful day for running and the course was scenic.

Bat times were: Dave Adams 1 hour 32 minutes 17 seconds, Pam Adams 1.45.08 and Julie Brownlie 1.36.23.
