FUNDS raised from the Bere Pen 10k road race 2015 hosted by Bere Alston Trekkers were awarded to local community groups in the village last week.

The running club made £800 available to community groups within the Bere Peninsular who were invited to submit a bid. Every bid that was made was successful and the funds were shared as follows:

Bere Alston Bowling Club (new mugs); TASS on behalf of Bere Ferrers Table Tennis Group (rental); Tiddlywinks (PVC Advertising Banner); Bere Alston Recreation Parks (contribution to current fund raising); Bere Alston Youth Club (contribution to Wi-Fi cost); Weir Quay Sailing Club Cadets (dingy maintenance); WWATS (Wednesday Wipeout Active Toddlers) (signage and other equipment)); Trinity Hall (contribution to replace hot water system and annual donation) and Aimée Bickley (expedition volunteer).
