IT was a very hot Bank Holiday Monday that saw the 10th anniversary of the Peter Tavy Plod with 16 Bere Alston Trekkers (Bats) taking part.

The course includes a 2 mile climb to the top of the Moor and onto Steven's Grave before turning left for a fast downhill run to the finish.

First Bat home was Steve Watson who ran a course personal best and first lady Bat and first lady overall was Becky Mingo.

Taking part in her debut race was Becky Rankin who was also celebrating her birthday.  Other notable runs included Rob Gualtieri who had already run a personal best the day before at the Battle Of Sedgemoor 10k and Murray Turner who was literally flying after cycling to the event as a warm-up.

Running in the fun run and finishing sixth overall was the Fruit Bat Joe Setterington who had also run really well at the Park Run 5k on Saturday.

The club said a big well done to all Bats for finishing well in the heat of the day.
