'AUSSIE Kiss', the Student Windsurfing Association's (SWA) flagship event took place at Roadford Lake last month in the annual student windsurf festival, now in its 11th year.
More than 600 participants from universities across England, Scotland and Wales flocked to Roadford to take part with 156 beginners taking to the water in one weekend, making Aussie Kiss.
Forty one student instructors and powerboat drivers gave up their own time windsurfing to impart their windsurfing wisdom to the new converts. In charge of organising them was SWA's committee member Simon Garrod-Bell.
Jon Cawley, South West Lakes Trust outdoor and active manager said: 'This has been one of the best events at Roadford this season! It was great to see so many people having so much fun doing a sport they love. It was a fantastic duel effort from both the watersports staff and the lakeside staff alike.'
