TAVISTOCK Swimming Club had two members competing at the ASA South West age group championships, which took place over two weekends in May at Hengrove, Bristol and Millfield School.

This was the first time for a number of years that the club had had qualifiers at these age group championships.

Alfie Morgan and Peter Ray competed in seven events, achieving personal best times in all their events and a club record for Peter in the 50m backstroke. 

Both boys competed in the 50m backstroke event, while Peter also competed in the 100m backstroke and the 50m butterfly. 

Alfie qualified and competed in a total of four events – in addition to the 50m backstroke; he also produced good results in the 100m and 200m freestyle and the 100m butterfly.
