TAVISTOCK long distance runner Adam Holland is determined to raise his £3,000 for a children's charity by competing in an incredible ten marathons in 10 days.

In 2009 Adam ran the fastest 10 marathons in 10 days (32 hours 47 minutes 03 seconds) at the 2009 Brathay Challenge, Brathay Hall in Ambleside, Cumbria from 8 May to 17 May 2009.

This year, Adam wants to become the first person to complete ten marathons in under three hours in ten days. To take part in the record attempt in May 2014 his goal is to raise £3,000 for the Brathay Trust, a charity that works with vulnerable children.

Adam said: 'This will be my third time running in the Brathay Windermere Marathon event. My goal is to raise over £3,000 for the Brathay Trust and break my world record of the fastest person to run 10 in 10 which I aim to do in sub three hours each.

'I've raised £667.63 so far and I am looking for lead and supporting sponsors for my world record attempt in May.'
