WEST Devon Adam Holland competed in the Challenge Henley long distance triathlon at the weekend as part of the Swimovate relay team and brought the team home to their second consecutive victory more than 46 minutes ahead of the nearest rivals.

The grueling triathlon in picturesque Henley on Thames consisted of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a full 26.2 mile marathon run to finish.

Swimmer Ellie Faulkner, fresh from the Olympics started things off in the cold water of the River Thames and came in over 12 minutes ahead of the next swimmer. Ellie competed in the 800m free and 4 x 200m free relay in London last month but she's no stranger to openwater swimming having won the European Junior Open water championships in 2009.

Cyclist Henry Sleight posted a solid bike leg and Adam Holland ran a stunning 2 hours 47 minutes marathon to bring the team home to win in 9 hours 10 minutes.
