FOURTEEN junior students from the Tavistock Jujitsu Club entered the last association grading before the summer break. Students went all out and demonstrated good progress through the Goju Ryu syllabus with many improved grades. Alfie Thompson, Emily Carty, Ethan Shears, Logan Sulsh and Oliver Childsit performed extremely well, passing and achieving the next level, eighth kyu, which is represented by a yellow belt. Abraham Reid, Billy Stanley, Isaac Reid, Javier Torres and Sebastian Whitford were promoted to seventh kyu orange belt. Barney Hunt, David Starkey, Dillon Hemming and Robert Derry were promoted to fourth Kyu green belt one tab. The grading panel was pleased by the performance and character demonstrated by everyone. Students have come back proudly wearing their new belts. n Anyone is welcome to come and try jujitsu, be it for fitness, confidence building or wanting to learn self-defence. The first month is free.
