Devon and Exeter Premier Senior Four Sampford Peverell 2 South Zeal United 2 Zeal played some great football in the opening half hour and made their superiority tell when Jerry Stephens headed over the advancing home keeper to put them one up after 15 minutes. Redd Cann put Zeal two up after 25 minutes when he converted a great cross field pass by Tom Reilley. Zeal were now completely dominant, but instead of turning round at half time four or five up, missed several good chances and conceded with five minutes left of the first half, after losing possession and allowing a quick, good strike from 12 yards, giving Adam Cann in the Zeal goal no chance. In the second half Sampford pushed a defender into midfield and went for the equaliser, leaving more space for the quick Zeal forwards. Zeal, although under pressure at the back, coped well and created at least six one on ones in the second half but all were missed. These misses proved costly as the home side equalised with a a few minutes left, after a scramble in the Zeal penalty area was converted from close range. This week South Zeal are away at Westexe, kick off at 2.15pm.
