Clyst Valley 3
South Zeal Utd 1
SOUTH Zeal started the game well and created some good opportunities in the first 15 minutes that should have put them ahead, but two costly defensive errors handed Clyst two goals within the space of 10 minutes. From then on it was hard work for Zeal to get back into the game.
In the second half Zeal re-organised and cut the deficit when Darren Gilbert broke down the left; his shot was saved by the home keeper but Robbie Sandercock was on hand to slip the ball back to Harley Cann, who finished well from inside the six yard box.
Zeal felt many refereeing decisions went against them, including a penalty decision to Clyst 15 minutes from time when two players met shoulder to shoulder on the edge of the Zeal penalty area.
The resulting penalty was put away successfully to give the home side a 3-1 lead when it looked as if Zeal could get an equaliser.
l Next week South Zeal United are at home to Seaton, kick-off 3pm.
