YOUNG people in the Tamar Valley area have the opportunity to spread the Christmas message through music, song and movement.

A new group, Sing 105, has been set up by Morag Stolton, the youth and family worker for the Callington and Gunnislake Methodist Churches.

The group is preparing to perform at local carol services and other events, including Tamar Valley Methodist Church's Christmas celebration service on Wednesday, December 19.

Sing 105 is a show-choir style group for eight to 25 year olds that will explore the joy and importance of the Christmas message through music and song. Rehearsals are every Friday from 6.30pm to 8pm at Tamar Valley Methodist Church, Albaston, starting tomorrow (Friday) and the group is actively recruiting new members.

Morag said: 'I am really excited about a group that covers such a diverse age range, allowing children and young people to sing together.

'I really want to bring the familiarity and beauty of some traditional carols into a more modern setting that both singers and those listening can enjoy and relate to.'
